SAP_CORBU Theme modification

Hello,

We are implementing ESS\MSS on ECC EHP6 system with portal 7.3.   We are interested in using the SAP_CORBU theme either for Portal, ECC WD4A applications, or both (ideally).

I have seen the SAP note 1681640 that States the following:

Theme Editing:
You cannot modify SAP CORBU using the theme editor.

But if we just want to change the Logo in the portal or make very minor changes, is there a way to do it? The theme does not show up in the Theme Editor tool?

I don’t see the point of making this theme available for the portal if we are not even able to copy and modify it according to our needs (at least the logo).

Any alternative solutions or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Harman

Hi Harman,

I did not try this, but this might work:

Copy the CORBU theme and unzip it. Replace the SAP logo with your logo. After a new version update the logo again.

For the standard SAP tradeshow plus you can find the sap logo here:

If you would like to know how to zip and unzip the theme.zip file, please read my blog:

Hi Noel,

Thanks for your response.

CORBU theme is not available for exporting in the portal. I assume this is what you meant when you stated ‘'copy the CORBU theme'’.

Noel and ALL other experts:

In parallel to my original query, I would like to get some feedback on this:

Would it be OK to use the Tradeshow theme for the portal, and use the CORBU theme for all WD4A applications? Or using different theme causes trouble?

Any help and opinion would be much appreciated.

Thank You,
Harman

Hi Harman,

Yes you can have Tradeshow as Portal Theme and CORBU if supported in ECC as theme for all WDA applications.

To check if CORBU Theme is available in the backend ECC system go to SE38 - WDTHEMES

it will list all the themes in the system.

You should also see the themes in SE80 - Mime Repository - navigate to UR folder and Theme...(explore under Mime repository you should be able to see the theme.)

In SE80 WD_Global_Setting - goto Change and change Stylesheet URI and ensure the iView property Supply Portal Stylesheet is set to no.

Hope this helps.

Technically you can, but it isn't userfriendly. Is there no way to download the corbu theme or create a copy of it?

If you can make a copy and change it, you can set the theme as default for all of your users (except admins). You can do this at the Portal Desktop.

Hi All,

As it looks now, I Don't think we are going to be able to use the SAP_CORBU theme. Even though we update the default theme in WD_Global_Setting to SAP_CORBU, but we still have to update iViews in the portal to set the property 'Supply Portal Stylesheet' = No.

I don' t think I want to touch the SAP iView, and copying all these iViews will be a lot of work!

If anyone has another suggestion to get around this requirement, we would really appreciate it.

thanks,
Harman

Hi Harman,

SAP disabled editing SAP CORBU theme through Theme Editor.

The only option I think off is if you are comfortable go and modify the associated CSS files.

And do understand that with new SP packs they are going to make changes to CORBU Theme.

So the changes done in CSS will be overwritten.

Hope this helps.
