Hi,

Default all your Keyfigures are selected in a structure. I think, that you want to now if it is possible to have 3 structures?

As of 3.1c it is not possible to have 2 structures for characteristics/selections and one for keyfigures/formulas

Matez,

I don`t actually need 3 structures at the moment.(as I understand it`s NOT possible)

My problem exactly is that I get an error message "The query has to specify a key figure".

However, I don`t need any Key Figure to be part of the 2 structures I defined.

Although, when I place one of the Key Figure(0AMOUNT) to any of the structures, I get the following error message "A Key Figure has to be uniquely specified in all cells"

Please assist matez! I don`t need any key figures to be part of my selection

Hi John,

In all selections in the KF's structure you should put a KF. Most likely, in some selection you omit the KF.

Hi Eugene,

Actually, I do not need any Key Figures to be part of my Query.

On my Rows, I have 1 Structure which contains various 'Selections' of Cost Elements

On my Columns, I have 1 Structure which contains various 'Selections' of Profit Centre

Hence, I do not need any Key Figures to be part of my Structures.

Kindly advice

Eugene mate,

Okay, so now I understood that I need one Structure just for Key Figure

Now, my precise question is this !

I need Profit Centre to be on my Row.

Here, I need to make 'Selections' where I make restrictions based on my Hierarchy such as Business Units, Function Units, Subsidiaries.

I also need Cost Elements to be on my Column.

Here, I need to make 'Selections' where I make restrictions based on my Hierarchy such as Taxation, Depreciation and so on.

Hence, how can contain this selections when I am left with only 1 Structure ?

Kindly advice what would your goodself suggest ?

<<Not exactly. You need to include key figures in structure, but that stucture can have char values. For exapmple, you can include keyfigures in each cost element selection. You must do it for ALL selections in structure.

Please remember, that key figures must either in Rows Structure, or in Columns Structure, not both.

And as advice: maybe you dont need to use structures in rows, just restict values of chars. In that case you will have all intersections of all available char values.

Hi Dmitry,

"You must do it for ALL selections in structure. "

Problem resolved!

Thanks mate!

The reason I use Structure is because, I`d have to reuse the selections / "Groupings" again into another Query.

Any setback of defining it this way ?

Hi John,

When you add new object into KF's structure use 'New selection' in the contextual menu. Then edit selection. You'll be able to put there all your chars you need, as well as KF.

Best regards,

Eugene

Hello,

we use actually BW 3.0 and there it is not possiple to define more than 2 structures, as i know even in 3.5 it is not possible as we was in contact with SAP regarding this question.

I´m actually on Teched and heared nothing about a change in this topic.
