Field for PR release strategy

Dear SAP experts,

For PR, we want to configure the release strategy based on the Dept that is issuing the PR. Based on my experience, many are using purchasing group for this. I think this should not be done, as purchasing group is meant for purchaser not the Dept that is issuing the PR itself. There is one good field that can be used, which is requisitioner. However this field is text field and by standard we cannot have drop-down button for this field. Can anyone share what field do you use to identify the Dept (so we can trigger the release strategy of the PR).

Best regards,

John

Can you create PR document types on the basis of your departments & consider the field of document type for the PR release strategy.

    HI ,

You can use the created by & Created Indicator as the characteristics for the release strategy.

Maintain the user id dept wise.

    Hope this helps you out.

    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,

You can use requisitioner or Reqmt no field as as Department code. for that you have to take help of ABAper.

You have to create search help and assigned to Structure - MEREQ3211GRID field BEDNR.You also have to create z table to store department.that table you have to link with search help.

You have write code in exit ZXM02U05 (function Module -EXIT_SAPLMEREQ_005) to fill the data in search help.

    code as below ;

    DATA : V_COUNT TYPE N.
    DATA : TCODE TYPE SY-TCODE.
    DATA : V_ATINN TYPE CABN-ATINN.

    *TABLES : eban, cawn, cabn.

    IF SY-TCODE = 'ME51N' OR SY-TCODE ='ME52N' OR SY-TCODE ='ME53N'.
    SELECT SINGLE ATINN
    INTO V_ATINN
    FROM CABN
    WHERE ATNAM = 'PR_DEPARTMENT'.

    SELECT COUNT( * )
    INTO V_COUNT
    FROM CAWN
    WHERE ATINN = V_ATINN
    AND ATWRT = IM_DATA_NEW-BEDNR.
    IF V_COUNT = 0.
    MESSAGE E900(ZMM) WITH TEXT-001.
    ENDIF.

    ENDIF.

    Screen shot for search help

    ou can

Same field you can use while configuring in release strategee.

    Thanks
