How to create outbound delivery automatically when an inbound delivery is created ?

Hi,

We have 3 business entities namely

1. Sales and Distribution Unit

2. HUB

3. Manufacturing Unit.

The Scenario is Make To Order hence, the process is as follows:

SO is created for end customer in SD Unit, which creates a PO in HUB. Hub dosen't store any material stock, so this creates a PO at manufacturing Unit. With reference to these PO's an SO is also created. Once manufacturing unit is done with the production of material, outboubd delivery is created. This delivery automatically creates an inbound delivery at HUB, which should trigger an outbound delivery from HUB and inbound delivery to SD Unit.

Problem: We are able to create automatic PO-SO chain using IDOCs. Automatic Inbound delivery at HUB is also created on creation of Manufacturing plant's Outbound delivery, but, I am stuck at creating Outbound delivery at HUB as soon as an Inbound is created. We are using IDOCs for data transfer, so let me know if this is possible using IDOCs.

Please guide me how this can be done.

Regards,

Madhav

Hi Madhav,

I have no out of the box solution for this but I would go for something which triggers for the specific sales order (item) the VL10 batch delivery creation process or a BAPI. That could be done by a periodic job, by an business transaction event or by a special output type processing triggered through the inbound delivery. The last would be my favourite as this approach gives good means to trace the process as every user can check if this output type has been found and processed.

An idoc solution would be possible but this also must be triggered by an output processing from the inbound delivery. My feeling is that this effort means more workload to be setup.

Best regards,

Oliver

I am getting the following error while doing with IDOC:

"Maintain outgoing EDI-connection data for partner 400041"

Message no. VN032

Diagnosis

The system could not locate the EDI partner agreements (outbound) for partner 400041.

System Response

You cannot use transmission medium 'EDI' with this partner.

Procedure

Maintain the EDI partner agreements for partner 400041. Make sure to create entries for output control as well as for outbound parameters.

Could you please hlp me in resolving this issue.

Madhav,

Can you check your partner determination setting. How this perticular partner is defined in your system?

As per my understanding if you are recieving goods from vendor to your company then it should be inbound delivery?? I understand you defined Hub as a vendor wich supply goods to your company code....

What happens when you are creating this delivery manually do you find same error in this case?

Regards
