Problem in customizing STS

Hi Friends,

We are positioning Status tracking system, and i have created subplan and imported with hierarchies and assigned to person responsible and with URL's ,but when iam trying to test by sending mail thru STS window by selecting responsible person,mail is not going with the URL i mentioned for that person and status switch which is been taken for me is showing in disable mode.

Could anyone help me out so that i can resolve this.

Hi,

U Need to check whether you have set Automatic Function For Status Switch Indicator or not in Planning Session.

U need to do this while you assign attributes for planning session.

Thanks for your information. but i have already set this option and still iam unable to see it in a active state.

Is some thing missing in my customization let me know.

Hi Siddartha,

The Mail sent to users have SAP All Authorizations.

And Webservices are maintained and both Tunguska and Tunguska_detail are in Active state, I didn't modified any thing or changed in settings which are defined as standard,and is something u mean i need to change,by default it is in Standard so i nope there wont be any problem.

Pls help me out in resolving this.

Hi Siddharth,

I have Defined Subplan,and defined planning session,and determined hierarchy.

Step 2.

I went on in settings and selected concern subplan and bottom/up session.

Determine attributes in Planning Session.

I set 1.Planning sequence on status switch as Synchronous

2. Automatic mail dispatch

3. USE CASCADING SWITCH ,USE TIME.

4. Text element - I left blank.

step 3.

In assingment process the user who initiates planning is been set with all url links and with status switch [for approval to approved with planning seq-4MCBSTS2].

Similarly for next level planner is also set with url of web template and status switch with New to For Approval with seq-4MCBSTS1[sts] sequence,and saved all.

Step 4.

I went with option of TEST call with display URL and with standard popup and when i executed it, it displays the STS window with hierarchy i have with usernames....etc details.

I selected one user and sent a mail,but it is asking me by opening a mail editor window with sub,and comments in mail and sent ,but user is not getting it with the link.

step 5.

When i select send start-email iam getting message 0 messages sent.

Is something i missed in this definition process or some other let me know.

Hi MV,

check if the mail connection for your system has been setup correctly. Transaction SCON should have an SMTP entry. If this seems to be OK, check if you can send emails from the system to outside accounts (transaction SBWP).

Dear Marc,

First of all thanks for your information. For the first time iam configuring STS. If you can guide me in acheiving this it is really a very big help.

As you said i had look into SCON and everything is Zeros in that tree list it generated, and i went in SBWP and tried to send a mail then i got error!.

1.Apart from these I would like to know why the Status

Switches are not enabled when iam seeing through the

window by test call URL.

2. There we do see the Text Element in giving attribute

Definitions.. do i have to mention anything so that

the standard text will be automatically generated.

3. Use Cascading Status Switch..What for exactly as i

didn't found even on Help the same.

Do i need to setup some other process or as per my earlier posted query i have used for switches new to for approval.. and forapproval to approved with two of the standard sequences defined for STS.Kindly clear me with this doubt.

Dear Sidhartha,

I Knew this, and i had a look and accordingly i created subplan and imported hierarchies and I did the settings for planning session and when iam testing it with Test Call with URL option in same iam getting STS window where iam seeing all users i have assigned and i have selected one to send a mail and i logged in and mail editor window appeared to me asking me subject and comments and typed accordingly and i sent mail. But the user didn't received with the link of URL which i maintained for that person responsible.

Kindly let me know is there anything I missed in my customizationm,or some services i need to activate.

Because all the services related to Tunguska and its Detail are also in active state.

I have been asked to do and for the first time iam doing this STS, I request all Experts to help me out in this so that i can setup STS.
