Problem transporting transformations

Former Member

Hi gurus,

I have problem transporting transformations of dataStore object. I just can't see transformations in Transport Connection.

Structure:

What I have done so far:

  • Assigned package Z*  to all object possible in dataStore object
  • Activated all objects in dataStore object second time
  • Tried grouping "In Dataflow Before and Afterwds" dataStore object in Transport connection, but all transactions I get is from dataStore object to InfoCube. Also tried it with infoCube but results the same.
  • Searched for transformation in Transport Connection -> Tranformation -> Select Objects but no results.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Sarunas,

This normally happen, we are unable to find, RSA1--> Transport connection. As stated by Anshu, you can try that, it may works. if not,

double click on nyour transformations, go to chnage mode, just do some changes and undo them. save and activate, while activate time it may ask new transport request, go for own request and click on create. copy that request number and releast at SE10.

Thanks

Hi,

SE38 returns "Program RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE does not exist". Second method gone well but no effect, still can't see transformations.

Thanks to all

Have you entered the program name correctly as RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE in SE38? The name is correct one only. How did you get does not exist message?

ARe you not able to activate them in RSA1?

Hi,

About transofrmations seeing or not an issue at transport connection. main motto is to collect them into transport request, Have you followed to create new transport request by choosing extras--> Object direct entry. if yes, then copy that request and relase at SE10. loginto bw quality server, TX - STMS_IMPORT, import into BWQ.

once you created new transport, directly you can release it. again no need to go for RSA1--> transport connection.

Thanks

I get "does not exist" doing this:

Result:

I am able to activate transformations and other objects in RSA1 and they are all active.

You get that message when you try to run in ECC system, but the program is available in BW system. Please check on that.

If you are able to activate transformation in RSA1, thats enough. You should be able to select it in Transports. Just logout and login again to see the change in behavior.

hi,

Leave about the program. just very simple. already you have the solution.

Pls recollect again thru, double click on your transformation, menu Extras--> object direct entry, capture in new transport request(copy this req). once you collected no need to check again at Transport connection.

http://scn.sap.com/community/data-warehousing/netweaver-bw/blog/2013/06/28/bw-requests-how-to-transp...

Go to SE10, release above request which you copied.

Thanks

Hi,

I guess your system is on lower SP level thats why that program is not available.

Anyways you concentrate on the collection of transformation and let us know the issue related to it.

Hi Saruna,

Error 8 inidcates transport sequence issue.

You just captured transformation only into one request. think so and released. fine

Before that you need to transport Data source and info cube.

While moving transports we need to transport objects in sequence.

Please let us know which object till now you transported respective this transformations.

Thanks

Hi,

You can try this method..go to RSA1--Double click on that particular transformation which you need to collect--Extras on top menu---object directory entry.

This way you can collect the bw objects individually.

Thanks a lot! That helped me. The transformation was in package $TMP, I changed it to our custom one and it created a request.

Hi there,

for the latest copy of 'RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE' report, please implement the following note. This report now contains a 'Check-only' option that can be run to detect inconsistencies with transformations.

1927521 SP32: Report 'RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE' with check option

You may need to implement note 1408161 beforehand however, if not promted to do so.

Hi

Have you checked if your trandformation isn't on another transport?  When you went "Extras"-> "object directory entry" did it list a Z* package? If so your object is already on a transport. If it's not in the one you assume it is it must be on another one. Check in SE01 if you find the technical name of the transformation  in one of the open transport

hope it helps

Hi Martin,

All objects have Z* package I will check about transports, but I am closing this question for two days at least because I have to do the higher priority task. I will let you all know when I am back to this question.

Thanks to all again

What version of BW are you using?  Maybe 7.0 on an older support pack?

RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE is delivered as part of 7.0 SP 24 or via the following note:

Note 1408161 - Program for transformation activation

Also, are these migrated 7.0 datasources (RSDS) or are they the delivered 3.x datasources (ISFS)?  If they are 3.x datasources you need communication structures, transfer/update rules rather than transformations (TRFN).

Look for the 3.x objects and see if thats what you need to transport.  Here are examples from BW stats content...

3.x data flow...

objects in transport connection

collected in data flow before, list mode

Activate your transformations of your DSO and try to collect from RSA1-->Transports-->Object Types-->Transformation. If your transformations are active, these will appear here definitely.

Try to activate your TRs through

RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE

program in Se38
