    Hi Eddy,

Currency conversion can be used in planning model without using scope dimension. But if you want to use the standard currency conversion logic, then you need to set up the business rule.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Eddy,

You can only run currency conversion from EPM Add-in if you don't use scope dimension because if you run it from web, the default pop up needs you select scope dimension. If you use EPM Add-in, you can edit your script logic and modify the DM Script(In "Adance" button when editing the package) to remove the scope dimension parameter.

Besides, no matter you run it from web or from EPM Add-in, you both need to set up the business rules.

    Best Regards,

    Charlie

    Hi Eddy,

Scope dimension is relevant if you are doing consolidation. For normal planning scenarios you don't require scope/group dimension.

    Steps to configure currency translation

    Standard Currency Conversion:

You can achieve this by setting up properties in the dimensions.

(e.g. Ratetype , in account dimension)

Load / Input of conversion rate in Rate Application

Creation of Business Rules and Standard script logic & Package to run curr translation

    Custom Scenario:

If you have a very simple translation scenario ,then you can handle it using script/BADI as well.

    Best Regards,

    Rakesh
