Advice required - Adding delivery route

Hello Team,

We are currently progressing with our upgrade. As of now we have finished all the non-production systems and final cutover is in weeks’ time.

I have a question related to transport routes.

The transport domain controller is configured in development system and then later we have added Integration system and regression system. As part of the final cutover we will add production system in the route (Delivery route). So after final cutover if we look the track will be

  1. DEV(TDC) à INT à REG à PRD

Now the question is following, when we add a delivery route to PRD from REG will all the transports get added to target system (PRD) buffer automatically?

If yes, how will the sequence be, the same way it did import in previous system (REG)?

(As far as am aware the answer is yes)

It will be highly appreciated if you can also route to SAP notes or SAP documents.

Many Thanks

Praveen Kumar

Well.... in theory yes, If you create PRD as a virtual system you could check the queue before setting it up.

Thanks Juan,

Indeed we can create a VIR to check the status. Question now is , if we create the VIR system, does that going to disturb anyway the activities that we are going to doing during final cutover? Am still curious whether some SAP notes that IC an refer.

Hello

Now the question is following, when we add a delivery route to PRD from REG will all the transports get added to target system (PRD) buffer automatically?

Correct. This is the expected behavior.

If yes, how will the sequence be, the same way it did import in previous system (REG)?

The same sequence how the transports were imported in the test system. You can check the order in the transport buffer file.

Thanks Reagan Benjamin. Apologies to ask too much, is there any SAP note/documents that seals this theory?

Take time to read this and once you know how the TMS works then with experience you will be able to clarify your doubts.

As mentioned before, the transport sequence is saved in the target system buffer... not sure why you need a document to prove that.
