Hi-
We recently had a user save over a file in BPC10 NW and a result either had to resotre to an older copy of environment, stand up new instance and apply backup of environement, or recreate the file. Unfortunately, none of the options were ideal. Is there any way to automate a backup of UJFS in BW so that we could've just opened a drive and copied the folder? Standing up a server or rolling back do not seem like good options.
Thanks,
Mark
Hello Mark
Yes, we do this every evening and have the basis team run some magic to keep a rolling week worth of backups and a monthly one too.
You need to create a process chain and schedule it to start when you want the backup to take place. It would be a good idea to run a lite optimise on the data before this happens.
Add a step to call a program and call: UJT_BACKUP_RESTORE_UI
You need to add a variable to this program which will look just like the UJFS backup utility. Set your preferred backup parameters and you're all done. Check it the first few times to make sure the backup is roughly the size you would expect.
Cheers
Ian

We had basis open up one of the foler that UJBR can see and we were able to do scheduled backup after that.
