I have a BW 7.X Query that I'm using in my Dashboard and in the Query I have specified ONE decimal place which works fine when executed via the Query Designer, but when I pull that Query into Design Studio it ignores the one decimal place. So instead of seeing 27.8 I see something like 27.7662134234123423512. I see no way to correct\override that in Design Studio. Am I missing something?
Hi Jonathan,
I have use script to set Decimal places with percentage in design studio by using Onstartup event.
Please find below document for details:-

Hope this helps..

Yeah so I've fiddled with it some more and I can override the Crosstab so I get my % decimal places correctly, but sadly the Chart refuses to cooperate and it still displays a bazillion decimal places. I'll have to figure out how to open up a bug report with SAP, hopefully it won't take long for this to get fixed as I need to demo it to senior leadership and as of now I can't. 😕

Hello Saurabh,
If you can, I recommend going to DS 1.2 SP2, released on Monday http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1962767 and see if you still experience issues.
Tammy
I have Design Studio 1.1 SP2, with BOBJ 4.0 and BW 7.31 (I think). It's definitely not working for me, I even tried pulling in values and have the same issue. Murali indicated it doesn't work for him either, there must be something different in your setup than ours.

Hi Alex,
May be a DS bug or that is how analytic engine works.
As you mentioned, it works perfectly fine for some and not for other key figures.
For few key-figures, the decimal places setting works correctly both in crosstab and chart tool-tip. When set to default, there are no decimal places. When set to a specific decimal place, they show up correctly.
For few other key-figures, the decimal places setting works correctly in crosstab but not in chart tool-tip. When set to default, there are five decimal places. When set to a specific decimal place, they show up correctly in the crosstab. Either way the tool-tip number does not match the setting.
From my observation, calculated key-figures that uses other records ( example: using percentage functions) shows this behavior of incorrect tool-tip value.
To me this issue is trivial and cosmetic only.
Thanks,
Murali
The Decimal places are set correctly and look fine when viewed doing the "Edit Initial View". It's the Chart that has the issue, it ignores the 0.0 Decimal places and assigns it a bazillion decimal places in the Chart. I'm almost 100% sure it's a bug, is there something that I'm missing? See screenshots below. Note the 64.3 displayed correctly, then the Chart with 6.2544859.....

I concur this as a DS bug related to BW. It works fine with HANA data.
Here is my observation regarding decimal places setting in DS initial view
HANA Datasource | BW Datasource | |
---|---|---|
Crosstab | reflects decimal setting | reflects decimal setting |
Chart Tooltip | reflects decimal setting | DOES NOT reflect decimal setting |
Hi,
Edit the Datasource in initial vie. You have the control of selecting the decimal places there.
