Hi Ashutosh,

Answer me this, is it mandatory to have the TDC the Development System? because we can try it on another machine to see if the permissions problems are from the server him self or not because let me tell you guys something.

This server was not buil-in on the domain, so SAP was installed in a standard alone mode after it finished the server was moved to the domain where the PRD, QAS and Solman are leaving.

Could this be a problem?

Hello

When you perform the same test on the other systems in landscape are you getting the same error ?

Add sapservicesid and sidadm users to the administrator and SAP_SID_GlobalAdmin groups

Connect to client 000 on the DC

STMS -> Overview -> Systems -> Extras -> Distribute TMS configuration

Check if this helps.

Hi Nelson,

Try this:

Go to your TP profile file directory located (normally /usr/sap/trans/bin). Execute below command. The TP command need to be executed with the TP profile.

> tp connect SID pf=TP_DOMAIN_SID.PFL
This is tp version 340.16.62 (release 640)
Connection to Database of SID was successful.
This is R3trans version 6.13 (release 640 - 10.12.09 - 18:29:00).
R3trans finished (0000).
tp finished with return code: 0
meaning:
  Everything OK

And Also check this:

You need to give the TMS profile when unlocking:

cd /usr/sap/trans/bin  tp unlocksys <SID> pf=tpparam_inst<SID>

This will unlock the instance. Login with a user with appropriate permissions, go to SE06 and change the system to "changable".

Also, please check if the following parameters are set properly.

DIR_LIBRARY=/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run

TRANSDIR = ....\trans

<SID>/DBHOST = <HOSTNAME>

<SID>/DBNAME = <SID>

<SID>/DBTYPE = ora

Execute the below command and check the transport profile:

tp check all pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL

Hi,

Check the following:-

1. Check the instance profile of parameter dbs/mss/schema? And what is the value of environment varible MSSQL_SCHEMA for the user <SID>adm and SAPService<sid>? They're supposed to be the same. here ms sql being the database.

2. The log statement "DB Connect Link to database failed

Offline Call connect failed" point towards a possible problem with db connectivity. Please check if R3trans executes with return code 0.

3. Try to import the same tr from the OS and let us know the result.

4. Check that the environment variables of <sid>adm and sapservicesid are also found from Registry under:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\<SID>\Environment

HKEY_USERS\<GUID-OF-SAPSERVICESID>\Environment

Hi Nelson,

A.     Have you just installed the system... If Yes... go to transaction SE06 to finish the Post_installation actions. This will create the systems and TP profiles in TMS.

B.     grant all access rights to the directory D:\SAP after releasing it. Now it seems to work

C.     tp =f=<TP_DOMAIN_DEV.PFL Directory> connect DEV

Hi Nelson,

Problem is with the shared access of dir \\sapdev\sapmnt\trans

Just give this directory the full share access \\sapdev\sapmnt\trans of to the below users:-

prdadm ans sapserviceprd

This will definitely solve your problem.

Please do reply.

Hello

Connect to the server where the SAP system is running and open explorer and the address bar type:

\\sapdev\sapmnt\trans\bin

Check whether you are able to see TP_DOMAIN_SDV.PFL file

The problem is more likely with the transport directory not set properly.

Hi Benjamin,

Yes I can access and I can see the TP_DOMAIN_SDV.PFL file, check he screenshot.

Now tell me which user should I use to access? maybe this can be the problem. I used admin user, the one used to install all the system.

Hello Nelson

As this is a Windows system I believe you need to consider giving the permissions to the users sidadm and SAPserviceSID to access the transport directory.

Yes I can access and I can see the TP_DOMAIN_SDV.PFL file, check he screenshot.

This shows that the folder permissions are correct.  What about the file permission?  From the remote server, can you open the profile in notepad and save it?

Hi Nelson,

The error stated that "transdir not set"

Can you put the below screenshot of your system and also check whether the parameter is set properly in instance profile.

STMS-->System Overview-->Double click on your system-->switch to transport tool

Hi Nelson

this is a problem really easy to trick with scn threads, did you read this one fore example

http://scn.sap.com/thread/717789

If you didnt change anything in the config it's usually a problem of permissions lost in the shared directory from your development.

Let me know what checks you already have passed

Cheers

Hi Mntella,

I stoped the sharing and created again manually and inserted all the sap* groups and users to have a full permission on the sap\usr\ folder but still.

I couldn't find the exact answer on this message http://scn.sap.com/thread/717789

Hi Nelson

first of all give permissions to sapserviceSID (where SID is where you want to import cr) to the share SAPMNT as Reagan Benjamin stated

Then login to sap system where you desire to import cr, go to transaction al11 and doubleclickin to

DIR_TRANS check you can find TP_DOMAIN_DEV.PFL (this should confirm that sapserviceSID has right access to the file)

Last but not least, if you want to be 100%sure target system have access to TP_DOMAIN_DEV.PFL , login to the operating system (maybe with SIDadm or sapserviceSID (which i believe should be a service user btw)), open a command prompt and launch this command: net use \\sapdev\trans /user:domain_sapserviceSID\sapserviceSID password_sapserviceSID

Let me know the outcome

cheers

can you please detail for me this part /user:domain_sapserviceSID? give me example of the part in BOLD.

Hi Chamba

if I do the same AL11 steps in my system , I can explore the DIR_TRANS so i still believe you have an access issue to sapdev

Regarding " /user:domain_sapserviceSID" , sap system acts in windows as sapserviceSID , but unfortunately this user is designed as service so you can not login as sapserviceSID unless you reconfigured it as logonable. So, to workaround this, you can login with whatever user you prefer, open a command prompt and type : net use \\sapdev\trans /user:(here you have to specify the domain of sapserviceSIS , for example sapprod)\sapserviceSID password_sapserviceSID

Let me know if you need further details

Hi Andre,

Of course I can also brow for other lines but for these that links to the \\sapdev\spamnt\... not

It seems to be a serious permissions problems because of that I gave all the sap users that are on the system a full right to the directory \\sapdev\sapmnt no one is missing.

Regarding the command, here is the screenshot:

C:\>net use \\sapdev\trans /prdadm:enh.local_sapservicePRD\sapservicePRD
The option /PRDADM:enh.local_sapservicePRD\sapservicePRD is unknown.

The syntax of this command is:

NET USE
[devicename | *] [\\computername\sharename[\volume] [password | *]]
        [/USER:[domainname\]username]
        [/USER:[dotted domain name\]username]
        [/USER:[username@dotted domain name]
        [/SMARTCARD]
        [/SAVECRED]
        [[/DELETE] | [/PERSISTENT:{YES | NO}]]

NET USE {devicename | *} [password | *] /HOME

NET USE [/PERSISTENT:{YES | NO}]

More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 3506.

C:\>

what i´m missing here.

an authorisation issue is never serious

i think it should be

net use \\sapdev\trans user:enh.local\sapserviceprd passwordofsapserviceprd

if you are not sure about domain of sapserviceprd (that in my command i've stated enh.local), you can find it looking in the users assigned to group SAP_PRD_GlobalAdmin

Hi Nelson,

Can you test the Transport system first in STMS.  Go into the import queues and run Import Queue> Check > transport tool.
