I have installed Financial Information management 10 sp6, patch3 - works perfectly.

Now I must to update FIM to sp 7.

But after update I can't save uploaded server.properties file, I click button "Update" but admin console don't save(also didn't work check buttons).

I try to copy server.properties(backuped from sp6) to folder C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\webapps\fim\WEB-INF

but it's don work too.

Then I looked to my STOUT.log and find some errors after installing sp7:

2013-08-13 17:00:23,772 ERROR [com.sap.fpm.fim.server.repository.impl.Repository] - <Unknown or unsupported database provider "">

2013-08-13 17:00:23,850 ERROR [org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoader] - <Context initialization failed>

I try to unistall sp7, and it works fine with sp6.

Can help me to update FIM please?

Hello,

Can you provide a screen shot of your configuration ?

(You can blank sensitive information such as computer name, accounts or replace them by generic names)

Are you using Oracle ?

Hello,

Can you verify if your web-inf folder is empty while you updated to SP7 or that you can delete/rename any exisiting server.properties file ? Are there missing files (a SP7 web-inf is about 71,5 MB, 204 files and 13 folders) ?

I mean that backing up your server.properties file before updating and leaving the tomcat6\webapps\fim\web-inf\ folder opened into your file explorer can prevent the update web application to deploy successfully.

One good way to check that is :

- Backup your virtual machine

- stop your tomcat service

- Try to delete the tomcat6\webapps\fim folder, if it says it can't because a file is opened by another process, that may be your issue.

To fix this you can reboot your server or use handle.exe (provided by Microsoft) in order to understand which process is blocking

In any case, you can :

- Backup your virtual machine

- Uninstall the SP7

- Stop tomcat

- delete your webapps\fim folder

- reinstall the SP7

- browse to your fim/admin/admin.jsp page

- use reset_acpwd.bat to set your administration console password

- restart tomcat

- browse to your fim/admin/admin.jsp page

- login in

- upload your server.properties from sp6

- click on update

- restart tomcat

- browse to fim and try to loggin

Hello Matthieu!

I surely close fim folder before updating.

I did step-by-step from your message, but I can't update server.properties:

After I choose file and then click Validate all falls in respective fields, but "Check" button in "Financial information management" section don't work, and don't work main button "Update"(no message restart Tomcat etc). And when I'm loggining fim can't find BOE

With sp6 work perfect,  strangely!

Did you update to sp7 or 8?

Hello,

I tried to update from SP6 patch3 to SP7

I managed to get a similar issue only by locking the web-inf folder:

com.sap.fpm.fim.server.repository.impl.Repository||Unknown or unsupported vendor for database ''

com.sap.fpm.fim.job.scheduling.ISchedulerService||Unable to start all schedulings

Did you try to purge your tomcat cache ? =>

- Stopping tomcat

- deleteting the following folder : Tomcat6\work\Catalina\localhost

- Starting tomcat

When you update fim, this is nearly "only" unedeploying your fim webapps and deploying a new one. You are having quite a weird issue.
