Hi All,
I am pretty new to SAP Dashboard Designer. I have a query regarding Dashboard Designer and Business Objects Server version. Does both of Dashboard Designer and Business Objects Server needs to have the same SP level?
I have a Business Objects Server 4.0 SP4. Can I use Dashboard Designer 4.0 SP5 or above with this?
Thanks,
Abhijit
Hello Everyone,
After a lot of searching, I found the solution to above problem.
The above issue can be resolved by installing Office 2003 Web Components on the machine. It worked for me.
Thanks everyone for your help.
Thanks,
Abhijit

Hi Abhijit,
It is always a good practice to update the Server and Client components on the same patch levels as the dlls, executables, etc are invoked while interaction between Server and Client components.
I have even seen unknown issues which have occured in this kind of scenario with legacy BO versions, thogh haven't encountered this scenario with BI 4 as of now but the same theory applies to BI4 as well for sure.
Please do try updating the Server and Client components to the same patch levels and share the feedback....
Thanks in advance!!
Arun

Arijit,
Thanks for your reply.
The reason for asking this question is, I am getting following error when I following the following steps -
1. Open Dashboard Designer.
2. Go to Query Browser -> Add Query
3. Login to BOE
4. Selecting Universe as Source.
The Dashboard Designer Version is 4.0 SP4 (Version 6.0.4.0 Build 14,0,4,738). On few of the discussion forums I found upgrade to SP5+ as possible solution to this issue. Please let me know if there is any other solution.

Hi Abhijit,
Even I worked with same scenario. It works for sure. Till now I did not face any issue.

It will work, but best practice is to keep all tools in same SP and patch level as there can be change in product behavior in different patch levels.
