Hello Experts,
I want to reduce the asset useful life. I am getting the following mismatching.
Ord Dep start date is 01.09.2009
& Till 31.12.2012 its showing Expired useful life 3 years 184 days But in actual it must show 3 years 3 months.
I want to reduce existing Useful Life.
Kindly give some valuable suggestion.

Hi,
Ord Dep start date is 01.09.2009
& Till 31.12.2012 its showing Expired useful life 3 years 184 days.
Hence, 01.09.2009 + 3 years 184 days = 03.03.2013.
About show 3 Years and 3 Months:
01.09.2009 + 3 Years and 3 Months = 11.2012.
do you mean that currently, currently you system period is 11.2012?

Hello,
Please check whether you set depreciation to day for your depreciation key.If yes,you could not get the value of 3 month you want. You need to maintain the days but not month. And it is not suggested to change the customize if you have set depreciation to day for your depreciation key as this may cause data inconsistence.
Also please check period control method and asset change log for your asset.
As Mathar said you could change the useful life via AS02 or AS92.
Best regards.

Hi,
According to me you can go to AS02 T-Code and then change the useful life of the Asset in the Depreicaiton Area tab. By this if the Depreciation key is SLM then it will also change the depreciation amount retrospectively.

Malhar.
