Query Browser BEx variable and Dashboard Variable

Hi Everyone,

I am using a BICS connection , for this i have created some variables/filters at BEx level and some at Dashboard level. At preview / run time it is not allowing me to use both type query prompt selector . Please tell how to do this.

I want

BEx variable for          :   Multiple value selection

Dashboard variable for :   Key display ( When i use it in filter only then it display Key )

If Multiple selection is available in Dashboard variable also then also its fine.

Hi Vaishali

Make sure the query filter has IN or INLIST operator.

Equal to operator allows only one value selection.

The INLIST allows multiple selection of values in the query prompt selector.

Hi Runali.

Right I will give this a shot I have asked this soooooo many times!!!!!!

I need to use the bex prompt as this will filter down my data, If I use 2 bex prompts  then this will not filter out my data. For example first prompt has 100 odd items, second has 10,076. I use the first prompt to then filter the the second prompt down tot he requisite amount according to the first prompts values, this could then drop to say a few hundred.

To enable search functionality for a prompt it must be brought from bex, however if I bring the 10,076 field through there are too many items hence it does not, bringing both through will not filter down the values!

So what I need is a prompt in bex int he query prompt in dashboards and also dashboard prompts connected tot he query prompts so in effect I have bex prompts and dashboard prompts. Now when you do this the prompt from bex is never shown just the dashboard prompts? Why is this a bug? If you remove the dashboard prompts the bex prompt is shown and you can linkt ot he query prompt.

Any ideas this is driving me crazy. SAP BW NETWEAVER connection just gives me error 2032
