Hello,
There is a need to reorganize the SRM “Org Structure”:
Currently they are using several Purchasing Organizations (1 per Country/Company Code),
The customer would like to move to a structure with 1 Global Purchasing Organization under which they would like to add different Purchasing Groups(1 per country).
Also technically, how to move from the “Old purchasing organizations” to the new Global Purchasing Org?:
What about the document SCs, POs that are linked to the Old Purchasing Orgs.
What to do with the Old Purchasing Org: certainly not to delete because of the link with purchasing document, ….?
Could you advise with right strategy to make this change.
Kind regards,
Lina
Hi Lina,
Technically it is not possible to change the Old Purchasing organization to the new one in all the transactional data.
You can create a new central purchasing org above all the Purchasing group and the make Validity end date for the the Old Purchasing org instead of deleting.

Hi Lina,
Its difficult until and unless you decide some cut off date for the existing Pr Org and before creating new you need to make sure that there are no open documents (SC, PO etc..) with the existing Pr Org.
After achieving first step, You can create a Central Pr Org and under it Create Country Node, Comp Code and Pr Grp. In Pr Grp responsibility you can give the Comp code Org id.
Best Regards,
Anil
