Digital Signature On Web-based approvals

Former Member

Hello all,

IHAC that is working on electronic approvals of SRM Shopping carts at the line-item level (standard SRM 4.0 functionality), but in addition, they want these approvals digitally signed by an external security mechanism (Entrust PKI.) I know Entrust has this capability, but what I'm wondering, is whether SRM has the application hooks to allow the digital signature on this approval?

Any information would be greatly appreciated,

Troy

Hello Troy,

Sorry but I don't get the interrest of a digital signature.

There are 2 ways for approvals:

-SRM Web transaction: the user is connected, what is the need of such a signature

-Mail based approval: it is based on a mail return to the SRM system, the system can check that the returned mail has been sent by the targeted user mail address.

I've been through several SRM project: Some clients asked for that, I asked back the exact need: 100% was only "nice to have".

Regards.

Hi Vadim,

Thanks for your response. The interest for the digital signature is that this implementation is for a decentralized procurement strategy across several agencies, with one single agency being the purchasing agent. Thus, that central agency wants to limit the risk of erroneous orders, or perhaps even malicious users generating false orders and limit their risk in a pro-active fashion.

Regardless, this is a solid requirement (I know, I've asked...lol) and they do want this functionality.

Thanks,

Troy
