xMII 11.5 Backup for Migration

Hey guys,

A blast from the 11.5 past here. I've been searching around to see if there were any good documents / methods to back up an 11.5 server for migration to a new server. Not sure if anybody had developed a script to do this or not.

Basically the idea is to be able to back up all the XMII files I would need to re-deploy on a new server after installing xMII and its service packs. That being said, I don't want to just grab everything, in case the new server has a different name.

I've done this manually in the past but there always seems to be a few things I forget. So far I have the following.

\wwwroot\<web pages> (Your web pages)

\Lighthammer\Illuminator\Conf (configurations for user nav)

\Lighthammer\Illuminator\Templates\<your template folders(s) (Your templates)

\Lighthammer\Illuminator\SysConf\ (but not everything here)

\Lighthammer\Xacute\Configuration\SAPServerConfiguration.xml (JCO Server configs)

\\Lighthammer\Xacute\Globals

\Lighthammer\JCO\jcoservers.xml (IDOC listeners)

\ServletExec AS\se-xMII\webapps\default\Lighthammer\WEB-INF\lib\<any JDBC driver files> (JDBC Drivers)

Anything I'm missing? if the server is using MII security (not LDAP or JDBC) where would be the best places to get that? In the past I've used the internal security migration tool, but that wouldn't work if the original server is down.

    Hi Doug,

I am not completely aware of the 11.5 structure but i did a migration from 11.5 to 14.0 once.

I checked the folder structure which I migrated and there were security files present there which were also migrated.

The location of the "Security" folder was same as that of "Illuminator".

    Thus path was was "\Lighthammer\Security".

under this folder, I found the following things:

    1. "\Lighthammer\Security\sysconf" (security related config files like JDBCConfigMapping.xml)

    2. "\Lighthammer\Security\userdata" (user and group xml files)

    3. "\Lighthammer\Security\userdata\backup" (same xml files as in userdata folder)

    Hope this helps.

Also i found there folders under the Illuminator folder:

Do let me know if you need further information regarding the folders.

    Regards,

    Rohit Negi.
