Infocube record count.

Hi all,

I want to find out for a selection criteria ie fiscalyear = 2003 in a cube how many total records are retrieved. In infocube->manage, and then in 'infocube content' I filtered the selection criteria by fiscal year and also selected the check box 'Output number of hits' thinking it will display record counter, but I am getting one's in record count field. Any help in this.....is really appreciated.

Hi dear,

it's enough to go to SE16 for your /BIC/Fyourcubename and press 'number of entries'..

Hi Bhanu and Roberto,

I tried SE16 before and when I want to make a selection criteria for time dimension, I see dim id's as selection criteria but not by fiscal year like '2003'.

I turned on the DB aggregates option but still 0recordcount column has ones.

please let me know......

It is not simple to go through SE16 for your requirement...did you try what I mentioned in my post?

After you checked for Number of Hits to be displayed, then you said that you see a column with just 1's (1ROWCOUNT) Click on the column heading and the column will be selected (yellow). Then click on the aggregate button (5th from left). At teh botom of the rows of data you will see a yellow results line and the number is the number of records as per your selection criteria.

...and don't choose any char in display !

Just go into cube content, check 'use DB aggregation' and 'output number of hits', then F8 !

Otherwise follow Bhanu's suggestion!

Hi Bhanu,

I started again from infocube->manage and then infocube content. When I select both 'Use DB aggregation' and 'Output number of hits' check box then I get only one row as output and it gives me the total number of records for the selection criteria fiscalyear=2003.

It did solved my problem, but will try to do what you said in your previous post.

you are right !

Or better...SE16 is possible (with the aid of SID keys, but it's no so comfortable!), but the best approach is yours: filter in manage function, and check two (as suggested before) checkboxes!

Hi Kiranmai,

You are almost there. Click the column with the rowcount (1) and then click the Aggregate button (looks like a turned around E). Scroll to the bottom and you can see the number of records in the total.
