Production order variance targets

Hi Guru's,

I don't understand why for some production orders in our system the consumption targets are calculated based on the planned production quantities instead of the actual quantity? For example , the target quantity for the material X should be 1,935.78 based on the production of 18,480 eaches actual qty ( planned qty is 16,800 eaches) and the scrap rate of 4.75%? Instead I am seeing

Total target qty of 1,759.80

Total actual qty 1875.35

Target/actual var 115.55

Total Target costs 990.86

Total act. cost 1,05.84

Target / actual var. 64.98

Any help will be much appreciated. thank you !
