Our BOE 4.0 SP6 is running on a 64 bit Windows Server. We have migrated our Crystal Reports and Webi from XI R2 environment to BI 4.0.
Our reports are built on top of old .UNV universes. The vendor database which these Universes use are MS SQL Server and Oracle.
Currently we have configured the 32 bit ODBC drivers for these databases in SysWOW64 folder of the server.
Random reports which i tested are running fine through Client tools as well as via Launchpad.
I learnt somewhere in the SDN forum that, Launchpad needs 64 bit driver to refresh the report?
But today when i spoke to a SAP support engineer he said, only Crystal Enterprise and those reports which are built on top of .UNX universes need 64 bit driver?
So i am confused.. which is correct? When BOE looks for a 64 bit driver? In my case as we dont have 64bit driver will all our reports would run fine?
Thanks !!
Kind regards,
Tilak
Any reports/Dashbaords/Crystal built on UNX universes., needs 64 bit ODBC drivers. Both 32 bit and 64 bit ODBC drivers need to be named same.

SAP BI4.0 Universe tools require a 32 bit middleware driver for universe creation. A 32 bit odbc should be created in the \Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe and a 64 bit middleware is required for Server - Reporting.
Both Entries in the ODBC DSN should be identical.

For report creation in WEBI 4.0 I have created universe in .unv and database is oracle 10g 32 bit. My system is windows 2008 server 64 bit. Oracle was successfully installed and I have created universe and rich client report. I want to know whether oracle 10g 32 bit will support for webi or not.
