Automatic TO confirmation at storage type level

Hi,

There is a requirement for automatic TO confirmation not to be done for certain storage types.

Business would like to validate it and then confirm. these storage types are used in all movement types, therefore automatic confirmation of Movement type cannot be removed, as this will impact the materials in the other storage types.

Is there any way I can control automatic TO confirmation for specific storage types

Hi Milind,

As an example TO with source storage type as R01 (Rack) are getting confirmed automatically due to the setting available at movement type (WM 319 Mvt)level. Business does now want TO's from source storage type R01 to confirm automatically even if the WM movement is 319.

So irrespective of movement type, if the system picks R01 as the source storage type, then System should not confirm this and it should automatically confirm the TO for the other storage types for the same WM Movement.

then the first thing you have to do is to remove the flags in the movment type (that is the two flags "TO can be confirmed immediately" and "Propose confirmation". And then you see from which storage types you want a manual confirmation. In these you set the flags for "confirm removal". Or "Confirm putaway" if you want to confirm the putaway. For storage types you don't want a confirmation, you simply do not set this flag. But it is a combination. You have a from storage type and a to storage type. In one you have to consider the "picking" confirmation required flag, in the other the "putaway". So Sumanth was giving you the right information.

Yes, you are correct. For the overall way if we need manual confirmation for the storage type seperately.

But the issue we face is that, for the other storage types there should be automatic TO confirmation.

So it is not possible to remove the "TO can be confirmed immediately" and "Propose confirmation" in the Movement type. By removing these indicators I am making a change to confirm the storage types manually and without automatic confirmation.

The current process is that the TO's are getting auto confirmed for the movement type. Business wants the same process to continue except for materials picked from R01 (Rack) storage type. These materials from Rack should be manually confirmed

In this case, for the storage types which require confirmation for removal/picking maintain the "stock placement requires confirmation" , "stock removal confirmation" at storage type (master data) level and for the storage types which don't need confirmation uncheck these parameters.

there needs to be a confirmation for all storage types. The requirement is that for certain storage types there should be automatic confirmation and for other storage types require manual confirmation.

So by your answer, I have to put indicator for "stock placement requires confirmation" , "stock removal confirmation" at storage type level and deactivate the Auto TO and Propose confirmation at movement type level. Let me take this up with Business and check if they are OK.. Thank you very much

Yes you can control confirmation at storage type level,

WM -> Activities -> Confirmation -> Storage Type

for the storage types, which needs manual confirmation you have to mark checkboxes 'EQ' and 'RC' for the corresponding storage types.

Thank you.

The issue is not with confirmation required or direct transfer. In the setting suggested by you, we have a option that if we need a confirmation or direct into the destination.

The requirement is that confirmation of TO is necessary, but if the material is removed from this storage type (R01) irrespective of the movement type, the system should not confirm the TO. This has to be done manually.

I have no clue of we can satisfy this requirement with the available WM settings in SAP
