Monitoring of BOE 4 SP05 via solution manager 7.1

Hello,

I am working on the implementation of the Earlywatch alerts and the monitoring for BBOE 4.0.i have a solution manager 7.1 SP08 on a Sybase database.

I followed the instaruction of the note Note 1646341 - EarlyWatch Alert for SAP BusinessObjects IDD / EIM.

The connection of the Wily agent and the SMD to the solution manager were ok . I can see the information of the BOE on the webview of the Introscope manager.

The information is found on the found indicated by the E2E alerting directory Browser.

In the System monitoring, all the information regarding the availability or the performance of the BO serevers are Grey and the CCDB status is red.

In the EWA generated I got the following(attached file)

It seems that the information are collected by the Solution managers but they are not sen on the ABAP part.

Thanks for any help.Best regards;

What kind of status do you have for the extractors for that BOE system?

What are the items (19 of them) that require to be run?

I also took a look at my company's SBOP BI Platform EWA and I don't see availability or performance stats as a section; the only non-green light I have within the EWA is for software configuration due to an upcoming end of maintenance 31.12.2014.

Also I missed it earlier, but why the mention of ABAP?

Hello and thanskl for your reply,

1- Here are the items that needed to be run :

I found that the mast riun of each of them was in error state:

I have already executed the extractors manualy several times but i am always having the 19 items to run again and i still have the same errors in teh EWA reports.

2- I have mentioned the ABAP beacuse if i understand well, the data should be collected by the introscope agent and then sent to the introscope manager then it should be collected by some ABAP table from which the EWA reports will get the statistics.

The data are available on the introscope amanager byut mising on the technical monitoring so i was wonderinf if there is a missing link between them

The availability of the CMS is available on the Introscope manager webview:

But missing in the Technical monitoring :

With the group source being "File System" I wouldn't be overly concerned as that shouldn't impact or fix your current EWA issues.  In the screenshot with the error highlighted, do you have an E:/BOXI on the server and do you have rights to the folder?

The BOE admin has yet to point CMS at Solution Manager for me, so I can't verify any of those settings.

It goes into the ABAP side of Solution Manager into a BI cube and EWA stats are pulled from there.

Technical monitoring could be an issue with the system not being setup for monitoring or you don't have a proper template assigned to the system.  Did you create a custom template or did you use the system default one?  Also if you look under the setup of the tech monitoring > Template Maintenance > Central Management Service > Managed objects tab do you have a green light there?

The installation of the BO was done under the folder E:\BOXI so it already exists and the full control was assigned to Administrators and SYSTEM, Read & Execute, list folder and Read for the other users.

in the Managed system configuration i pointed to  the CMS and the administrator user as folows:

In the technical monitoring i used the default template and i have a green light in the managed objects of the CMS service.

in the last EWA reports the section "4 Software Configuration For TES" and "5 Business Intelligence Platform - Technology Checks" are availbale  so it seems that the information were be able to be fetched from the BW to the report but i still have the issue with the CCDB whch i could not find how to reolve it even with the implementation of the notes 1811700 and 1833976 as recommended by the Note 1646341 - EarlyWatch Alert for SAP BusinessObjects IDD / EIM

Did you perform the steps under the Additional Information?

Additional Information

1) If you are notified that the bo40.dump_all_xml is not available in Configuration and Change Database (CCDB), please follow the steps mentioned below:

a) Manually upload of latest config store templates for BOBJ --> see SAP Note 1811700

b) Implement SAP Note 1833976 using Transaction Code SNOTE

c) Reschedule the extractors for your BO System in Solution Manager. It can either be started manually and imediately or it is done automatically after one day.

d) Check CCDB whether bo40. dump_all_xml is available for your system.

2) You want to schedule an EarlyWatch Alert for both an SAP J2EE System and a SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 4.x:

If you want to schedule an EWA Alert for SAP BO BI Platform and you are using SAP J2EE Web Application Server, you need to assign them to different Solution Landscapes. Otherwise you will face the issue that there is either no BI Platform related data in the EWA or there is no Web AS related data.

As mentioned in my previous post, i have already upploeded the templates from the note 1811700 and applied the note 1833976. I had rescheduled the extractors manually and i can see teh Store name bo40.dump_all_xml but this did not help to resolve the issue.

I look at the logs of the store in the SMD (E:\usr\sap\DAA\SMDA97\SMDAgent\applications.config\com.sap.smd.agent.application.remoteos\work) and all the files collect_bo40.dump_servername.err were empty so there were no errors issued.

Sorry for the delay, company had all locations in Mexico go live today in ECC, how I will never miss printing "problems".

Back to your issue though, can you verify under the Root Cause Analysis tab > System Analysis > TES~BOE > Change reporting > CMS_DB [2 stores] > bo40.dump_all_xml

Looking at mine I see 5 lines the first one is blank and the other 4 have ">" for entries.

Actually you have more than I do, as I see a scroll bar and the start of the xml text.  Interesting enough I am in the middle of a Perf monitoring via SolMan mini project with the BW team and I'm sure this is going to arise...but most of the outstanding items appear to be on the BoE side of things which I don't administrate.

At this point my guess is that because you have more configured for monitoring BoE servers that would account for the differences in our EWA reports also, unless someone else can chime in on the post; I would recommend opening a OSS message.

In the XML file i have all the data about the 16 servers appearing in the BO servers and their availability..so as it is written in the EWA report the issue is that it could not read the XML file.I will check the issue and post the reusults if i will find it.

Thanks for your help.
