I want to make calculated fields, but it seems that this is only possible for fields in the main table. Is this correct, or are there a way to make calculated fields for flat table or hieararchy table

This correct, with MDM 5.5.24.06 calculated field can be define on main table only.
Thanks,
Ronen

John,
Just out of curiosity, can you tell me your requirement about the calculated fields in the look up tables.
If you look at the concept these tables are supposed to give us a list form which we pick up some values. If these themselves are calculated then why can't have the field as a part of the main table?
Regards,
Ravi
There are two reason I want to use calculated fields in lookups:
I am working with a book database, the main table i will use for books, in the look up tables i wil have for example authors. The author ID i would like to calculated base on an autoid and som calculations.
The other reason is for search, using a calculated field to able to do an search on the content of several fields. This field will contain all values from relecvant fields.
Best Regards
John-Kjell
Hi Ravi,
To explain my qualified table scenario a little further, say you sales offering times by season. You want to look at the sales offering times for a given country across all the seasons the goods were marketed. You need a calculated field that does the aggregation from seasonal to country.
Thank you

Hi Ravi,
We identified a need for calcualted fields on look up as well as qualified look up fields. On look up tables, for example, our need is around putting checks and balances around manual entry. On qualified atbles, we have a need for calculated current season or current offering time, etc.
I understand that currently MDM does not have this feature and this could be a potential future enhancement.
