What is Java add in?

Hello experts,

I am trying to install XI and I found that it requires SAP WebAS ABAP and Java system. I don't have WebAS ABAP and Java together. But I do have them separately. Is there any way I can install XI instance by using the current landscape.

What is Java add in this scenario? Can't I install WebAS ABAP system and then on top of WebAS Java so that it will become WebAS ABAP & Java system.

Please point me to necessary info to install XI.

After installing ABAP Stack, when you restart the setup.exe, you can see the Java Add In for ABAP.

There are 3 different type components in SAP Web AS.

1. SAP Web AS ABAP

2. SAP Web AS Java Add In for ABAP

3. SAP Web AS Java

You need 1 & 2 for XI.
