Batch Characteristics to be made uneditable

Hi All,

  We have a scenario where user wants to make batch characteristics field manually un-editable once value has been entered in it during batch creation. But the same field can be updated latter on through different enhancement programs. how the same can be mapped in system.

Dear,

Please go to CT04 enter your Batch Characteristics click on change mode then go to Addnl Data tab

here ativate the Not Ready for Input field.

Hi Rupesh,

thanks for the response, but user requirement is to make the characteristics available for entry at the time of batch creation and make it un-editable once the characteristics is updated after batch creation.

You can restrict the authorization of MSC2N. Also check the authorization object  C_KLAH_BKL with your basis person.

Restricting with authorization of MSC2N will restrict user for making any changes in batch, but we just want to restrict entry against one particular batch characteristics.

Hello mukesh,

do as:

1.enter any 3 digit code(e.g. ZBK etc) in auth group for required characteristics like below.it wont come in F4.

2.Maintain ZBK with activity 03 in C_KLAH_BKL  for msc2n.

So now in MSC2N other fields will be allowed to change except this particular char.

hi Dee,

I tried with the provided solution by you, still the field is editable

1. Maintained authorization group as ZIN for characteristics Inspection  agency

2. Then maintained ZIN with activity 03 in C_KLAH_BKL  for msc2n in SU24

3. screen shot where the characteristics is still open (also for newly created batches)

suggest if we have to maintain anything else.

HI dee,

Yes the the 3rd screen is of MSC2N. we removed all other roles having MSC2N AUTHORIZATION OBJECT from the role and assigned new role having only MSC2N T-Code and authorization object C_KLAH_BKL. Still the field is open in MSC2N screen.

Dear,

Please check the authorization object C_TCLA_BKA for class and C_KLAH_BKL for all charctesrtics

You can remove MSC2N from almost every user and provide the authorization for MSC3N

Also you can try using a screen variant (SHD0) for the transaction MSC2N & restrict the characteristic value changes.

For edit you need batch change MSC2N so why do you need enhancement program? you can try with authorization.

Is their any standard authorization group for restricting any particular characteristics. we tried with f4 help, but their is no input regarding the same. Also i have checked the auth. object C_CABN_GRP but no values are there against the object.

Do we have to make Z auth. object and assign against the characteristics?

You can use this authorization object to restrict the maintenance of characteristic values.
