Overall release strategy for purchase requisition not rigth determinated

Hello!

We are using overall release strategy since 4 years ago and this is the first case we have.

We installed EHP6 3 months ago (April 2013).

This is the case:

A Requisition with 2 items different cost center has been created, when save it, the release strategy is not the correct one. It is taking release strategy 01 instead Release strategy 04.

We already check CL24N and both cost centers are in the same release strategy.

if we create individal requisitions per cost center we got the right release strategy but when use together isn't.

This was not happening in the past.

Release group in IMG is set as overallRelease.

Our Class is as follow:

ACCOUNT_ASSIGNMENT     CEBAN-KNTTP

PLANT     CEBAN-WERKS

CSTCENTER     CEBAN-KOSTL

ORDER_TYPE     CEBAN-USRC1

TOTAL_VALUE     CEBAN-GFWRT

Our Clasifffication in CL24N is right defined.

Release strategy 01 is defined as follow (this is the one that is not correct one and PR defined).

Account Assignment Category K

Plant 7401

Cost Center 0000011010

Cost Center 0000011011

Cost Center blank

Order Type

Total value of requisition 0.01 - 1000.00 USD

Release strategy 04 is as follow (this is the one that MUST be determinated since we are using those Cost Center in the requisition):

Account Assignment Category K

Plant 7401

Cost Center 0000014655

Cost Center 0000014689

Cost Center blank

Order Type

Total value of requisition 0.01 - 1000.00 USD

I dont know why is taking the correct one!.

Additional info, if we create a requisition using just 1 line item for the Cost center 14655 and other requisition for Cost center 14689, the system select the correct release strategy, the 04.

Please any tip will be appreciated.

Hi Marco,

Check again your Cost center field value is assigned correctly, if assigned correctly then in classification system show your field, don't change class name use same class only characteristic assigned correctly. Due to characteristic creation table CEBAN assigne or not check it. Under release strategy check in simulation is it showing released or not.

For further any issue in coming pls share detail.

You can check what exactly error check release strategy under Procedure with classification.

Hi,

Duplication values will affect on your release stratgy. Check your charactersits what you given for 01 and o4 if both are same. Then system will not considered 04. May be this is also reason.

Hi Satish,

This could be your cost center assigned to both release strategy 01 & 04,

So remove this cost center from Release strategy 01 in tcode CL24N.

In overall release strategy for PR, if two line items of a characteristic have two different values, then sap considers it as a blank value and corresponding release strategy will be triggered..

In your case You have two strategies with blank value in classification for characteristic COST CENTER.

So in this case SAP triggers first matching strategy. So strategy1 is triggered instead of strategy2.

In your second case you are giving only one line item and thereby only one cost center. So respective strategy triggered as you expected.

So its standard behavior of SAP in overall release strategy

Please check whether the overall release for the PR type is ticked .

Also ,

your Problem is

if a PR is having one line item , then the PR release strategy works

and

if the the PR is having more than one line item ,PR release strategy does not works

correct me, if my understanding is wrong.

confirm the following .

PR with more than one line item

- each PR line item's (Cost Center 0000011010 ,Cost Center 0000011011, Cost Center 0000014655

Cost Center 0000014689)

Try to create a PR with two line items with cost center ( Cost Center 0000014655 ,Cost Center 0000014689 ) and confirm whether it working or not.
