production order allocation

Today, when we release a production order, only the available component stock is committed to the production order. Also, when the our distribution center start receiving inventory into stock, then a sales order comes in, it may allocate that inventory before the nightly production order reallocation process takes place.

Is it possible to reserve inventory based on future receipts (purchase orders or production orders).

System will assign the stock to sales order even you have production order is in place before the order. Because customer order is the master and it is system standard behavior.

Hello

You can only commit the quantity to a production order when runnint the ATP check. You may think about using different storage locations for production and sales orders to avoid this issue.
