Crystal Reports change datasource in quality

I have transported our first Crystal Report to quality.  I can change the datasource location to point to the quality server and get the report to run.  However, since it's quality, i cannot save it.  (I get the error "You do not have right 'Edit objects' on object 377995")  Of course, if i simply close the report, it reverts to the development server.

How do you go about saving the datasource location after transporting to quality (and also in production)?

I am using Crystal Reports 2011 and BOE 4.0.

thank you

Hi Matt,

I assume you are opening the report from the QA CMS database. Since it's QA you need to talk to the QA BOE/BI Adinistrator to give you rights to save the reports back to the Server.

There are migration tools available that allow you to specify the DB info when you migrate to the QA system. Once again, check with the BOE/BI Adminstrator, he should be aware of this tool.

Thanks, Don.

What kind of migration tool are you referring to?  Is it part of the BOE suite or third part?  Could you tell me the name so i have something to work with?

Depending on the version depends if it's there or not...
