Cannot Create RemoteLoginContext after sp13 upgrade

Hi,

I've upgraded to sp13 640 on W2K3 sp1 host and everything looks ok, apart from I can no longer login to the VA. The tracefile shows:

Error while trying to login to localhost: Cannot create new RemoteLoginContext.

[EXCEPTION]

com.sap.engine.services.security.exceptions.BaseLoginException: Cannot create new RemoteLoginContext.

I have read every post on the forum regarding this error I think and have so far:

0) checked the dispatcher/server nodes are a-ok,

1) deleted and recreated my VA connection [both ways],

2) checked I am definitely connecting to the correct port

3) have updated my secure store passwords,

4) have tried the SAP emergency user,

5) have updated my jdk to latest 1.4.2 version [and have upated the environment variables, instance profile and .bat files accordingly],

6) have read the documentation 'Getting new initial context using P4 fails',

7) have stopped one NIC card [note 609603]

😎 seen note 620207

9) have checked the etc/hosts file and

9) have rebooted about 600 times

10) The online/offline configurators are ok.

11) http://<host>:8101/msgserver/text/logon shows:

version 1.0

J2EE1861500

J2EE <host> 50000 LB=1

P4 <host> 50004 LB=1

12) Everything in the <host>:50000/System Info/ looks ok, apart from it's showing can't see the SLD - not sure if this is relevant as the SLD is ok and being updated daily.

The VA just times out at 99% every time.....

Only thing I can think of is that I don't see the "naming service" mentioned on the documentation here when I telnet in:

but don't know how to enable/add this....

Anyone out there got any help for an increasingly bitter and twisted colleague!

Hi Rasmus,

Walldorf are dialing in to check this out - so far they have examined all of my log files but not come up with anything.

I'll post the solution if they come up with it!

Hi,

having the same/similar problem during J2EE SP13 upgrade.

callSdmViaSapinst.log displays cannot create remotelogincontext. It's not password related, nor does the J2EE crash at this point. I have once stopped and started J2EE at this point but it destroys the J2EE and I had to re-install.

Did you get any solution from SAP?

No news from Walldorf I'm afraid - I'm on another project and so haven't had chance to persue it further.

SAP pointed me at note 883943 which has a new p4 component. I deployed it mid-SP13 upgrade and things look much better now.
