Stack file is invalid: component 'ST-A/PI' During sp update with SUM

Dear Experts,

            I am upgrading solution manager 7.1 to SP08 using SUM.I am facing following  error during .

Severe error(s) occured in phase PREP_EXTENSION/EHP_INCLUSION!

Last error code set: Stack file is invalid: component 'ST-A/PI' (stack release 01P_700 &lt; source release 01Q_700)<br/> <br/> If you put new packages in the download directory, use option 'init' to upload them

Please do needful.

Hi, you have a newer Support Package than Specified by the XML, current versión is Q, XML ask for  P, so you have to edit Your  XML file and replace the entry with the level installed.

An error has occurred during the execution of the Deploy software components step.

Cannot execute Java process for deployList with parameters E:\SUM\sdt\tmp\deploy_list.txt. Return code condition success evaluated to false for process java.exe for action ACTION_DEPLOY_LIST.

To troubleshoot the problem use the provided information. An SAP Note may provide a solution to this problem. Search for SAP Notes with the following keywords:

SUM  execute  component-deploy-700  deploy-components  com.sap.sdt.j2ee.services.servicesimpl.SDMService  class com.sap.sdt.j2ee.tools.sdmprocess.SDMProcessException

How did you resolved your ACTION_DEPLOY_LIST. i am facing the same issue... and i am in DOWNTIME phase.. so cannot change anything in system..

Please share the solution.. appreciate your help.

Hello Snehal,

I am facing the same issue, "an error has occurred during the execution of the Deploy software components step. Cannot execute Java process for deployList with parameters /usr/sap/SUM/SUM/sdt/tmp/deploy_list.txt. Return code condition success evaluated to false for process java for action ACTION_DEPLOY_LIST. "

There are three support packes files in deploy_list.txt.

/usr/sap/trans/EPS/in/ISAGENT24_0-10007435.SCA

/usr/sap/trans/EPS/in/ISAGENTJ515_0-10010975.SCA

/usr/sap/trans/EPS/in/SAPBUILDT13_0-10006655.SCA

I rename those files how ever same issue. If you have resolved this issue, kindly help.

this is all related to kernel update

you have to update kernel then you wont get any sort of error.

                Thanks a lot for reply. I have upgrade ST-A/PI as per RTCCTOOL. and applied Note 1795851 - MOpz: stack xml copy report corrections too. But Same problem. This New system installation. I am upgrading from initial Stack to SP08.

hi

its nt always recommended to edit the stack xml, it might lead to incosistency.

Just you mentioned you done the upgrade of ST- A/PI to the latest. so it should work now.

            I was already updated. only rtcoscoll was not scheduled . Now It's scheduled.should i have to start from beginning.

Hi Snehal,

This is a problem due to old ST-A/PI tool.

Before starting the upgrade, run transaction ST13 tool RTCCTOOL.It will show  RED mark on ST-A/PI Addon Supportpackage.

Follow the SAP note described on that screen and update your ST-A/PI version as mentioned there using transaction SPAM.

After ST-A/PI  upgraded to version required, you have to perform Maintenance optimizer again and create a new stack file.Start the the upgrade with new stack file

Also, check your current ST-A/PI release/level, map it with the error. Check recommendation in RTCCTOOL.

Hi Snehal, From the log it seems some mismatch in ST-A/PI component - Can you please check if your ST-A/PI component was at the level which is required to patch using sum. i.e if before running SUM tool Please run RTCCTOOL report and check if it suggests any ST-A/PI compoennt to be patched first.
