AR Credit Memo from Copy To Invoice

Former Member

Hi,

I have a below scenario and need a details of SAP B1 behavior

Scenario:

In AR Invoice I have two rows of Items and first item with Price and second Item without price (giving free)

When I am coping to AR Credit memo from Invoice, SAP is populating only first row item (which is having price) to AR Credit Memo and the second row (which is not having price) is not coping in AR Credit memo.

When I raise AR Credit memo through copy from function all two rows are coping.

Why SAP is behaving differently on Copy To and Copy From Options?

Kindly provide a details if you have faced above scenario

Regards,

Kiran

Hi Kiran,

Unfortunately, the B1 rule has been defined that Copy to Credit Memo from Invoice will only copy non-zero lines.

You may only select Copy From Invoice in Credit Memo because this allows user intervention and default is to copy everything without check.

Thanks,

Gordon

Dear Gordon,

Please  confirm that, Non-zero lines  means zero quantity and price.

But the above subject is different.

Hi Gordon,

Thanks for your reply

Can I get SAP note or document for above rule, because I need to explain the B1 behavior to Client.

Thanks & Regards,

I am afraid there may not have note or document for it. It is by system design that copy to Credit Memo will only consider the line that total amount > 0. I have tried in many different B1 versions to be sure of my conclusion. It is logical to me.

Hi Kiran Kumar,

Please check with sap notes and let me know your opinion.

1731205 - Zero amount Invoice cannot be copied to Credit Memo

1871452 - Zero quantity is not copied to Credit Memo

Hi Nagaraj,

I am not understanding one thing here, why we need to add Item row without quantity in transaction rows.

In which scenario it will be applicable. If you have any idea please let me know

Hi Kiran Kumar

It is a System Behavior as there is no price for second item so it will not consider so one item is copied as is having price and it will nullfy the account and invoice will be closed .

But when do copy from  ar credit memo it will copy two items this is standard system behaviour.

Copy to ---> Copy only which is having quantities and price

Copy From ---> Copy's entire details which is availble with the Document(invoice)

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for your reply

In case of Copy to, if zero price rows are not copied, you cannot receive the stock back to your warehouse. I agree the document value will match and close for both Invoice and credit memo but in case of COGS and stock will be wrong.

Kindly check and let me know your comments, if you have any SAP note for above behavior it will useful to review.

Kiran

Hi,

There is limitation in copying AR invoice to AR credit if:

Item          Qty   Price

Item A---- 2----100.00

Item B--   -0--  ---0

The second time will not copied to credit memo.

But if second item has quantity without price, the system will copy both item in both ways.

Hi Nagaraj,

Thanks for your reply

Your example is right but in my case the second row also contains quantity without price, While Copy from Invoice through Copy To option the second row is not coping to AR Credit Memo

Please find below snap shot for your reference

Kindly check and let me know your comments
