Hi,
I am trying to install SAP BODS 4.0(SP 1) in Windows Server 2008(64-bit R2 Standard) along with MS SQL SERVER 2008(R2 Standard). I already installed Windows Server 2008 and MS SQL SERVER 2008,can any one please guide me how to install BODS 4.0 and how to configure CMS and all.
Regards
Satya
Hi Satya,
Assuming you have a default installation -
Step 1 - Check for pre-requsities (.NET, flash player, Office 2010 etc)
Step 2 - Create two databases in the SQL server for local repo (one for local and other for audit)
Step 3 - Create a ODBC connection between the server and DS
Step 4 - While installing choose the local and audit database to configure the same.
Step 5 - After installing check the CMC for dataservices link, click the link to configure the repos
Step 6 - login to designer using this repo and configure a job server. If you are creating central and profiler repo then configure groups in management console.
I have publised a document on IPS and DS 4.1 installation. Check the document or blog posts to view it. You can follow the same.

Hi,
You need to install IPS first http://service.sap.com/sbop-downloads (Browse the Analytics Solutions Portfolio" Support Packages and Patches" SAP DATA SERVICES" SAP DATA SERVICES 4.1-->SBOP INFORMATION PLAT SVCS 4.0)
I would advise that you install a newer version. DS 4.0 SP3 or 4.1 SP1 or later instead of 4.0 SP1 (Use the same link as above) .
You should also consider the compatibilty between IPS and DS as it is important (see KBA 1740516 for details).
Thanks
Nawfal

To access documentation there is no need to have SMP account. The documents published on help.sap.com > Analytics > Enterprise Information Management > Data Services > SAP BusinessObjects Data Services 4.0 > Installation Guide for Windows.
You may just follow the link I have posted above. Please also review the sugestions from Arun and Nawfal below.
In order to download BOE/IPS and SAP Data Services you would need a SMP account.
Thank you,
Viacheslav.
