On-the-fly spell checker

http://me.eae.net/stuff/spellchecker/demo.html

Probably the best AJAX application* I've ever seen.

SDN Team, how about embedding this in forums functionality? 😉

    Nice feature 😊

Together with the wikiwyg editor Craig posted about earlier this day (/people/sap.user72/blog/2005/09/15/wiki-wiki-wiki-its-what-we-hear-now-we-can-see-as-well) ... seems like web editing finally is getting of age 😉

Not a bad little app, we have a spell check in the forums already though, OK not a live as you type but there is one, that together with using ieSpell in IE or RiteOfTongue in Firefox do we really need another?

Now that is not the logic whatsoever, however good or not so good the spell checker in the forums here are we are kind of stuck with them for the moment, we are trying not to go too far away from the forum software standard otherwise all those cool new features won't be able to be integrated 😔

As for internet cafe's I use <a href="/people/sap.user72/blog/2005/05/10/firefox-lovers-rejoice, not had any problems in the internet cafes when I plugged in 😊

You may be interested in Jacuba:

    http://www.jacuba.com

It provides as-you-type spellchecking, corrections, dictionary and thesaurus. Best of all, the spell checking is provided as a service which is free and which doesn't require anything to be installed to the server. The only thing needed to deploy it is a script tag in the HTML.

There are more details on the website for anyone interested.
