BO 4.0 - low performance

Currently we are using BO 4.0 (we upgraded from 3.1) but from the beggining we faced a lot of problems with performance.

In 3.1 version when I wanted edit report in Richclient (ver.standalone) it took definitly less time than in 4.0.

And in 4.0 we have big issue - I edit report and close 'edit window' and my memory increase above 1 000 000 K - only edit and close.

When I repeat this action 3-4 times I have to close RichClient and do the same next time because I can't do anything.

I tried use Administrator/Enterprise but without success.

My Bo server has:

RAM - 16 000 MB

CPU - Quad 2.13 E7420

BO 4.0 SP5 FP11

On BO server tomcat is using 1000 000 K memory almost all time even when any report is working/scheduling etc

Also check if you Client tools are on similar version as BO server, to get better response from Client tools.

This may infact be report-specific. (i.e. will be worse for 'heavy/complex reports') It will also be important what kind of connectivity this report is using, so that the relevant processing server can be upsized too.

Are you familiar with the Sizing Companion and the Adaptive Processing Server configuration guides?

What you are seeing is expected. Your performance issue is likely due to a default installation that hasn't been configured optimally yet.

Incidently, you are running the bare minimum specification for being supported. (i.e. 16gb = min requirements) For example, the Tomcat memory configuration should be increased to 4-8Gb per web tier.
