Spool is not returned to Cronacle

Hi Everyone,

There is a program which runs in SAP triggered by Cronacle. Program generates two spools in SAP, one is for a team to send the PDF file and the other is for the report spool. Spool is not getting returned to Cronacle. Spool flag is set to yes in the parameters. Is there any configuration which can be made in Cronacle or SAP so that the report spool can be returned to Cronacle. For all other jobs spool is visible in Cronacle.

Hi HP/Jane/Shailesh,

In the job definition, the format is set to 'Generic' in DEV, QA and PROD. The spool is returned to CPS in dev and qa but in prod, ONLY for this job the spool is not returned to CPS from SAP. For other jobs in PROD, the spool is getting returned. I have tested the job by directly duplicating the job from QA as well as directly duplicating a job in PROD which shows spool.Still there is no spool visibility.

CPS Version 7.0.4.8 SP8 in all the environments. We have checked SM21, there were no errors for the instances it ran till now.

Also I have mentioned the logs above in the chain.

Hi, Ramana

in this case, pls upload job log for a look.  this is checking if spool is generated on SAP successfully or not.

assuming that PRD has everything same wtih QA, DEV, including transport files,  if spool is generated on SAP side, perhaps you need to set RFC agent to DEBUG level to capture more info.

furthermore, advise you to open a SAP ticket,  this might request more files or tracing for troubleshooting.

The issue got resolved with the upgrade of SAP to  netweaver 12 erp 9.

Can you please let us know what do you mean by NetWeaver 12 ERP 9?

The NetWeaver versions are usually 7.x EHP X.

hi, Romana

what's your CPS version and patch level?  there's possibly something happened on SAP side.  pls check SM21, especially RZ15 on that day for this job. 

what's job definition used for running this program on CPS side?  does it always fai to generate spools files? 

does Quality system have same CPS version and patch level with this one?

It works fine in Quality. The issue is only in Production. It displays the below log in Production.

Hi Ramana,

Could you please inspect the job in SAPGui and tell me what the format of the spool files is that is failing?

Could you also look at the job definition in CPS and tell me what the format is ? You should set this to PDF if you want the PDF. If you use SAP_AbapRun* job definition, you can duplicate it and change the format.
