PDF conversion (otf to pdf) - Problem with Polish character "ł"

0 Kudos

Hi Experts,

I´ve got a problem with the PDF converion in SAP - otf to pdf. The converted PDF contains some words with a additional space caused of e.g. the character "ł". We use a custom font.

The following was the answer of SAP:

___________________

Transaktion SE73 – Printer Fonts --> select the used device type and set the cursor on the used font – press „Display Metrics“

.. nnn
C 108 ; WX 303 ; N l ; B 55 -12 273 740 ;
C 112 ; WX 544 ; N p ; B 63 -220 513 522 ;
C 116 ; WX 334 ; N t ; B 11 -12 318 667 ;

Add:

WX nnn ; N lslash ;

And don´t forget to add one to 'StartCharMetrics '.

___________________

Now my question is what should I write in the line of "lslash"? --> C...;WX...;...;B...;

What stands for C?

        -"-      for WX?

        -"-      for N?

        -"-      for B?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards

Marc

Hi Marc,

It should not be becessary to change the font metrics in the device type for PDF conversion of Polish characters. Can you try as follows. Install the true type fonts contained in the attachment of the SAP
note 1817893 via report RSTXPDFUC. Then use the unicode device type SWINCF to create the OTF and PDF.

Aidan

Hi Aidan,

thank you for the answer.

Which report do you use for the otf to pdf conversion (or function modules)?

Hi Marc,

I use RSTXPDFT4 foir converting spools to PDF. Or function module CONVERT_OTF ro convert OTF data to PDF. But the settings mentioned in my last reply are general and apply in all cases. The OTF must be created via a correct device type and truetype fonts need to be installed in the SAP system.

Aidan
