Hi All,

I am using 5 dimension logics and all logics are big expressions(each logic having more than 1000 characters)

i am using MS BPC SP03.

I created logics(.lgf) and added in options tab of account dimension. it's working fine.

is there any other methods are available in next SP's??

Thanks and Regards,

Naidu

Hi Naidu,

Are you using dimension logic or logic script? If your logic is too complex better use script logic for better performance. BADI is even better in terms of performance.

Member formula (dimension logic) and scrip logic are available in latest service pack as well.

Kalyan.

Hi Naidu,

If you want to keep the logic as dimension formula, then you need to call the function through options tab, as you have done. If you ask for alternates, then you need to do it using script logic. But unlike dimension logic, you need to execute the script logic through DM package, unless kept in default.

If you dont want to store the result, then dimension formula is ok. Please note that you might have 20 dimension formula in your dimension. However, if you are using only one of these members in your template, then you wont see much of a difference in performance. Dimension logic is executed at the run time. This means, when you refresh the report, if your member appearing in the template has dimension formula, then only that logic is executed.

Hope this helps.

Hi Naidu,

it isn't clear what you are using, but as Kalyan wrote if you have a complex logic it's better to use script logic.

Also if you have a lot of formula because dimension formula are calculated run-time and if you have a lot of formula performance will decrease quickly.

Other possibility are stored procedures.

Kind regards
