Rahul,

When you searched through SAP online help,  I guess you must have overlooked SAP's guidance in this matter.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm700_ehp02/helpdata/EN/e0/9088392b385f6be10000000a11402f/frameset.htm

To accelerate your journey, you might want to consider taking a class.  I took

https://training.sap.com/v2/course/scm226-configuration-of-demand-planning-scm-apo-classroom-097-us-...

a few years ago, and it was well worth the money.  I am sure you can find a similar class in your vicinity.

Best Regards,

Hello Rahul,

Yes. This can be done.

Unlike the data copy from Infocube to Planning Area, this requires a bit of BW expertise. If the data target is Infocube, you need to implement the following steps to get the data from Planning Area to Infocube.

1) You need to delete all the Indexes on the target Infocube

2) Delete the contents of the Infocube

3) Delete the contents of the PSA table

4) Create an Infopackage that takes the data from the Planning Area to Infocube ( Before doing this, you should set the planning area as your Data source )

5) Create a DTP against the above mentioned Infopackage that takes the data from Data Source to the Infocube

6) Once this step is done, you need to rebuild the indexes on the Infocube for better performance.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you need more details on this. This is a very common scenario that is widely using in all the APO projects.

yup babu ...i have created a planning area, activated it,generated a datasource ,and replicated the datasource  .....as of now fine....

so now it boils down to activating the datasource 9AENGI  and the logical system SAPCLNT800 ...i am attempting it now....with rsa5  but the system says "" man i dont find your datasource 9AENGI at all ""

i will try all ways at my disposal...and get back to you

hi Rahul,

you are not talking about Backup of Planning area data (from Livecache) to Infocube, are you?

I think so. He's taking about backup planning area data to infocube. Acutally it's a very common process in APO. We suggest regulary backup data into infocube in case of data inconsistency or data loss at liveCache side. And the process is particular important when you need to de-initialize the planning area to eliminate some inconsistencies.
