I have an ODS that I want to use to load another ODS. Both of the ODSs are on the same system. I did a "Generate Export DataSource" on the first ODS and then created an Update Rule on the target ODS. Then I went back to the source ODS and tried "Update ODS dat in DataTarget. I received an error "There is no DataSource with these attributes". I went to the InfoSource area and fount the DataSource. I think I don't need to replicate the DataSource but I did it anyway. I have tried a number of time but cannot load data from one ODS to another. The Target ODS takes load from 3 different ODSs and one of them worked without a problem the rest have the same problem. Can someone help?
After you have generated the export data source from ODS1, did you create the update rules for ODS2 based on the Infosource 8<ODS1>. Once you have done that and created the info-package you would find the ODS2 under the data target tab. Schedule the infopackage and load ODS2.
Thanks for your replies. My problem is more basic I guess. I was able to create the Update Rules but cannot create the InfoPackage. When I do an "InfoSource Overview" on the target ODS. I see the popup window with a bunch of InfoSources and the the one I am trying to us on the bottom with red.
When I do Expand/Enlarge on that source ODS InfoSource, I am in the InfoSource area where I do the following:
1- press right mouse button and select the "Assign DataSource".
2- Enter/select the local BW Logical system from the list.
3- Next window comes up with a bunch of DataSources but I cannot find any familiar names to choose from.
For example the ODS name was ZO_BILL and when I did Generate Export DataSource, it created 8ZO_BILL. That name somehow went to the InfoSource not DataSource. I can't see any DataSource to pick from the list under the InfoSource->SourceSystem-> list. What am I missing? I have tried display Generated Objects and whatever I can think of. Please, help.
