Hi Gurus,
We have a enviroment with ASE primary / standby cfg , we need to bring up a new network interface file entry in ASE interfaces without rebooting the ASE, I need to know if this will work , any particular chage in interface file?
Rebooting the ASE will take around 10-13 minutes , is there anyhting we can speeed up the recovery process ?( there are aprox 60 user db's and 200 GB RAM)
Thank you
Isabella
You can certainly add entries to the interfaces file while ASE is running.
After you add the entry to the interfaces file, the next time ASE reboots, it will pick up the new port automatically.
You can use sp_listener to cause ASE to start listening on a new port that just happens to be the same one you added to the interfaces file, shouldn't be any need to reboot ASE now except to test that it picks up the new entry.
