Question regarding Multi provider

Former Member

I have

1. Old invoices Cube

2. New invoices Cube

3. Todays Cost DSO

I am trying to get the cost variance.

So I created

1. Infoset(old Invoices- costs)

2. Infoset(New Invoices - costs)

I created a multi provider on top. Everything is good. but since Costs(DSO) are in both the Infosets, they are adding up at the Multi provider level. How can I avoid this?

I cannot create a cube on this DSO because I want an Outer join in the Infoset.

Please suggest. Thank you all.

HI,

I have an idea.

Infoset 1-->DSO 1

Infoset 2-->DSO 2

Finally create Infoset on top of DSO1 and DSO2. No MP is required.

Try this and let me know..

You mean creating a DSO over each Infoset and then creating an Infoset on top?

But won't there be performance issues with this approach...i might be wrong to an extent though!

Exactly, I mean that. You can only do Full loads from Infoset to DSO. To achieve your requirement, you have to do this. Performance is secondary. First try to achieve your business requirement.

We have some performance tuning tehcniques to work on Infosets and DSOs.

I do not know if this is the only possible way to do it. I would not be doing it because the requirement has changed.

But thank you Suman on the suggestion. And Aditya this is definitely cause performance issues.

I think it is better to load the old invoices into a file and load it back to existing DSO/Infocube and use it. But it is huge data.
