Multiple Counter Plan for Fleet with initial measurement Docment

Dear Members

I want to create a multiple counter plan for vehicles as I need to do preventive maintenance on every 10000KMS or 3 Months whichever comes early. I am able to simulate this scenario in SAP using multiple counter plan, but still need your advice on below points.

• 1.What should be my counter over flow reading? E.g. I have set it up as 99,99,999/-. Want to know the significance of same?
• 2.I am setting my annual estimate as 40,000 KMS (10,0000 X 4 = 40,000 KMS) so that I will have 4 scheduled call generated for each of vehicle per year. Is this understanding is correct?
• 3.How I need to initial ODO meter reading as my 1^st reading will always more than 10K KMS since all vehicles current ODO reading is more 1,000,000 KMS. If I enter 1^st reading as 1,150,000 KMS it will generate 1^st call, which I don’t want. How I can achive this?
• 4.I am having more 1000+ Fleet Vehicles. So, do I need to create the separate plan for each of vehicles?
• 5.Some blog/scn post says that we need to regularly post the measurement document. If not with value, at least with 0 KMS. Let me know, what it means.?

Dear Pavan,

I believe you are creating single cycle plan. My requirement is to create a multiple counter plan for Vehicles.

In such case how I can define this Start Counter reading?

Atul Rajmane,

The Start counter Reading field will appear in maintenance plan creation mode and before scheduling. Please make sure that a measuring counter is attached to the maintenance plan.

Could you let me know where this fieldcUse "Start counter reading" in maintenance plan is defined as I am unable to locate same. A screen shot would be helpful for me.

Atul,

The scenario can be done by Multiple Counter Plan.

1. Counter over flow reading: The last reading your vehicle can measure (Odometer Reading). The significance is when the vehicle reaches the max reading either it will be replaced or reset to zero. In your case, imagine a meas document was created at 99,99,995. When next meas document is created with value 5, the total unit your vehicle moved is 9.

2. No. Annual Estimate is the approx. km run by vehicles annually. It is related to your query 5, imagine a vehicle runs approx 10,000 km per year and maintenance is done once in 5000 km. Now vehicle is abandoned or stopped using after using 2000 km within 3 months, if counters are not regularly updated with 2000 even if vehicle not used, system thinks user has forgotten to enter the reading and it will trigger call object.
