Hi Experts,
This query is related to "Estimated cost".
What exactly is the meaning & use of "Estimated cost" field in "Travel Request" screen? Does it mean that, the travller wants to mention that, the amount entered in this field is the approximate expenditure cost to be incurred for the particular trip. How it is processed further. Can it be used for budgeting purpose also.
Actullay the requirment is that, when a person requests for a trip, at that time only the system should check whether the budget is available for this or not. So system should popup a message accordingly.
Please help how to configure this in the system. We are on ECC 6, EHP6.

Hi Daniel,
Estimated amount is basically the total of Per Diem amount and the Additional amount which has been entered manually for advance. It will automatically come by the system.
The budget functionality will be used at the level of Cost Assignment object using at the time of posting of the entries i.e. Cost Center. As per my understanding, the system will not restrict at the time of creating Travel Request. However, system has the functionality of defining Maximum rates for the Expense Types....you can mention the maximum amount for every Expense Type and if the users enter(s) more than that amount system will not allow to post giving the message.
You can try this functionality.
