Hello All,
Can anyone tell me whether it is possible to write Crystal reports using SAP R/3 Functions in that (they are Remote Enabled) this saves a lot of time re-writing any existing functionalities in R/3.
And also let me know is there a simple way to access R/3 Tables in Crystal Reports.
Like just we do reporting in ABAP in R/3 something similar, where we have a Realtime data in the Crustal reports.
Many Thanks,
krishna.
Hi,
Here's the user guide for Crystal 2011 (part of BI 4.0) : http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/CR2011/en/xi4sp5_cr_usergde_en.pdf
Please refer to the section (and onwards):
24.1.3.2 Reporting off other SAP data sources

Thanks Henry, it says we can access using Infoset Drivers (one can import a whole functional area) I presume, they are speaking abount the tables / Views etc. from that functional area.
OLAP ABAPI driver is used for accessing Function modules available from SAP in Crystal reports.
This will be useful for someone searching this content.
Thanks,
Krishna.
Hi,
Yes you can connect Crystal Reports to SAP data from version 2008 & 2011.
Please go thru the link provided by Henry to understand the process and also what is the Crystal Report version?.
Thanks,
Jothi

Thanks for guiding in the right direction.
1) Did any of you tried to use R/3 Functions in Crystal reports and fetch data using them ?
As in future if HANA is R/3 Database, we need a way to directly access R/3 content to show in the report output.
I would like to know in details if one can say how to use R/3 FM's in Crystal reports rather than Re-engineering the same thing in Crystal functions .
Many Thanks,
Krishna.
