Impact of ECC 6.0 to ECC 6.0 EHP 6 upgrade on BW 7.0

Hi All,

I have a query regarding ECC 6.0 upgrade.Does the upgrade from ECC 6 to ECC 6 EHP 6 have any impact on  the  system BW 7.0?Is it mandatory to upgrade the BW system also?

Hi Venkatesh,

I would suggest you to use UDA ( Upgrade Dependency Analyzer) tool to identify any impact with connected systems when you upgrade.

There is nothing to be done from the BI/BW side.

The upgrade done on the ECC system is not depending on the BW system.

BW systems are connected to the ECC and other systems through RFC and they are mentioned as source systems in the Tx RSA1.

There is nothing to be done from the BI end during an ECC upgrade.

If you asking whether you need to upgrade your BI system which is a separate system then the answer is NO.

Hi Venkatesh,

Ideally it is not required to upgrade BI but It is good to have NW stack on BI system to be same as other SAP systems in the landscape. This helps in resolving many of the extraction and data load errors.

Hi,

As the Bi content Patch should be same between BW and ECC system . so its better to perform upgraded on both the system together to avoid any issues.
