Hi,
I would like to incorporate a link within a webpage to a Query running in Excel/BEX Analyser. I know I can link to a Query running in the Web via a URL, but am unsure how to go about if it is to run within BEX Analyser.
Perhaps we can incorporate some java in our webpage that calls an SAP Function Module that starts RRMX and passes the query name for execution.
The specific Query Worksheet has been saved within a Role (so we can't simply link to a Workbook saved in a LAN directory). Users currently log on to the SAP GUI and click on the RRMX Query (within the Role) to execute the query. I would prefer if it was not necessary for some users to logon to the SAP GUI to view the query.
I understand that the user will still need to log to SAP to view the Query and hoping they can be prompted when they select the first link; and not be required to logon again if selecting a second query worksheet. I'm also hoping that if the webpage is incorporated in our Portal, we can use Single-sign on to skip the logon process.
So my questions are:
-Has anyone attempted to open a BEX Analyser report via a link within a Webpage+ Javascript?
-What SAP Function Module should be call to start RRMX with a specific Query (that is saved in a Role)?
On a related matter, I have tried creating a Desktop Shortcut for a BEX report (right click on BEX report within Role that is shown in SAP Easy Start Menu). When I click on the Desktop Shortcut, it will startup Excel with the Business Explorer toolbar, but does not execute the actual query. I'm assuming that there must be a problem that is causing not to open the BEX report. Any suggestions?
Many thanks
Adrian
