There is no sequence for web and applcaition tier installation. You can install tomcat / websphere etc at any time(before bo installation or later). The important aspect to look forward to is whether the warfiles get correctly deployed post installation of the BO application

I believe you would like to know the concept where the IFRS / OFRS location would be in server 1, Server 2 would comprise of BO installation and server 3 for web tier.

If I am correct with above, you can proceed with below:

1. Install BO in server2.

2. Install Web tier at server3

The sequence can be changed for point 1 and 2.

3. Post installation of BO you need to point the IFRS and OFRS path from Commandline properties of the relevant services.

Hope the deployment is succesfull.

Hi Vipul,

The best way to go about this is:

- start with the CMS tiers first (i.e. the application servers).

- Next move on to the web application servers.

- What do you intend to install on the "file server"? Are you referring to a server which hosts your filestore?

- If so, this can be done once the 3 application servers are installed.

The idea is to have the application tiers setup first. The webapp tiers can be installed then. The file server (if it is indeed for filestore) just needs to have directories created for Input and Output file repositories. These directory locations can then be pointed to in the input and output file repository servers in all 3 cms tiers.

Hi Vipul,

I would suggest you to have a look at pattern books available here.

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/SAP+Business+Intelligence+Platform+Pattern+Books

which has end to end deployment scenarios.

Choose the pattern book appropriate to your Scenario (Windows/Linux,etc..)

In case of distributed environment usually we will install BO application first on a server and then tomcat or other web servers next
