Hi Phil,
I have seen this error in my experience in the below cases, it definitely is related to structure.
You can duplicate the report keeping it in structure mode and then preview results, if it still throws error and does not display, then have to investigate the block/object/cells of the structure that is causing this issue by deleting one by one from duplicate report and preview results repeatedly, that way wherever you get right preview, the deletion before that is the affecting block/object/cell.
Thanks
Mallik

I am facing similar error in BO 4.1 Sp 2 (Rich Clinet).
Report has to Data providers however all my objects and variables are from the same query. I tried to recreate a report (tab) from scratch by adding obects one by one, but could not reproduce the issue. No issues with the recreated report/tab.
I had this issue on BO4 SP3. What worked for me was removing some invalid variables. A variable I had was referencing a detail that I also had a prompt on. Something was weird between the two and removing the variable fixed my issue.

Hi Philip,
most likely a variable or other component of the document that is throwing the error.
Normally only a thorough analysis can spot where the problem is, you should involve support

As per SAP Note 1551681 - Error: "Unable to get the first page of the current report - Web Intelligence will switch to structure view (WIJ 20003)" received when adding filters in the WEBI report.
Cause
"Avoid duplicate row aggregation" option is unchecked.
Resolution
Open the report in Infoview or WebI Rich Client .
Remove the filters from the report level filter window.
Select the block in the report and go to its properties by right clicking on the block.
In the properties tab check the option "Avoid duplicate row aggregation" for the block. This option when checked will help in avoiding the combination of the two rows having same values and will treat them as different rows.
Place the objects in the report filter, it should work correctly.
