Withholdin Tax

Hello all,

I know B1 has withholding tax function for sales and purchase document.  However, my client didn't know how many % they should apply when create AR invoice.  They will know until get payment.  I would like to know whether B1 has withholding function for Journal Entry or withholding tax for payment. 

E.g.

-AR Invoice send to customer $100 (no idea on the % of withholding tax)

-One month later get payment from customer $90 and know that there are 10% withholding tax which is $10

-client reques to input withholding tax while doing incoming payment (is that possible in SAP B1?)

-or whether i can input withholding tax when doing Journal Entry ?

Hi Anna,

Before invoice raising for particular customer, you can set withholding percentage for particular customer. If you set the withholding tax for particular customer (Payment), it will deduct the amount automatically in payment.

Administration-->Setup-->Financial-->Tax-->Withholding tax (for payment)

Business Partner-->Accounting-->Withholding tax (mapping)

If you not set these initial setup, you should add only a journal entry for customers withholding tax

You need to confirm which localisation, version and patch you are working with.

Also, what category of the Withholding tax you have defined.

Hi,

I am using Australia localization with 8.82 PL12.  The category of the withholding tax

is a government requirement for the payer of an item of income to withhold or

deduct tax from the payment.  In fact, our client is in Philippine.  However, there is no Philippine localization and after consult with SAP they suggest us to use Australia localization. 

Is it OK to use Australia localization to have function on

withholding for Journal Entry or withholding for Payment?  Or there are other localization can be done on this?

When i check on Austrlaia localization I can only find Withholding tax for sales and purchase document.
